| May 6, 2010 VICTORIA – May is Motorcycle Awareness Month in British Columbia, a great time to hit the road with the wind on your face and safety on your mind. At the 20th Annual MLA Ride event in Victoria, Langley MLA Mary Polak joined her fellow MLAs to help promote rider safety and motorcycle awareness for other drivers. “As the weather heats up and more motorcycles hit the road, it’s more important than ever to be aware of road safety,” says Polak. “May is Motorcycle Awareness Month and a perfect time to remind fellow motorists to look carefully before turning or changing lanes. By watching out for motorcyclists, you could save a life!” The MLA Ride is an annual motorcycle tour to the Legislature Buildings put on by the B.C. Coalition of Motorcyclists. This event brings MLAs and riders together to discuss issues concerning motorcycling in B.C. and is the big kick off for "May as Motorcycle Awareness Month," an initiative to remind drivers to look twice because motorcycles are back on the road.
