MLA POLAK HOLDS JOBS TWITTER TOWN HALL

LANGLEY –Langley MLA Mary Polak held her second Twitter town hall Thursday afternoon, engaging with local residents about job creation and the Premier’s newly announced jobs plan.

“The Premier’s jobs plan is great news for Langley,” says Polak, adding a recent roundtable discussion with local business leaders highlighted the need for a plan like this. “Agrifood and technology are key industries in Langley, and are two of the eight sectors that the BC Jobs Plan will focus on.”

Polak is one of the first sitting members of the British Columbia Legislature to use the Twitter social network to hold an online town hall discussion.

"I encourage Langley residents to join the conversation and participate in my next Twitter town hall,” says Polak. “These online discussions are a great way for me to get in touch with constituents and find out what is important to them."

Polak is also reminding Langley residents to join the “My Langley” contest via her Facebook and Twitter pages by submitting a photo of their favourite Langley place or activity. Residents who submit a photo by September 30th are eligible to win two gift cards to local businesses.
