MLA POLAK HOLDS FIRST TWITTER TOWN HALL

LANGLEY –Langley MLA Mary Polak held her first Twitter town hall Monday morning, engaging in conversations with local residents on issues that matter to them.

The Twitter town hall was one of the first held by a sitting member of the British Columbia Legislature.

“Twitter opens up our ability as MLAs to communicate directly with the public and have open discussions on public policy matters,” said MLA Polak. “I am very pleased with the results of the first Twitter town hall and look forward to holding another.”

The next Twitter town hall on Thursday, September 22nd from 3 to 4pm will focus on the topic of job creation.

"I encourage all Langley residents to join the conversation and participate in my next Twitter town hall,” said MLA Polak.  “These Twitter town halls are part of an effort to get to know you better so we can continue to make Langley the best place to live, work and play."

Polak reminds Langley residents to join her My Langley contest via her Facebook and Twitter pages by submitting a photo of their favourite Langley place or activity.   If residents submit a photo by September 30th, they will be eligible to win two gift cards to local businesses.
